The Best Eye Serums

For many of you that have followed me for a long time, I have been on the search for a brilliant eye serum (the one I adored was forced to retire and sent to the skincare heavens). Since then, I have been on the search for a replacement and it’s fair to say I have tried countless, some are too thin and too watery and then some are the opposite, being too thick which can cause white milia around the eye area (the ones that look like whiteheads and you can’t squeeze).

I would recommend that if you are over 40yrs old, that you do apply an eye cream over the top of the serum as for all serums tested apart from one, I had applied an eye cream over the top as I have thirsty, ageing eyes .

My expectations and my benchmark has been set by the queen of all serums (the eye serum that shall not be named but is now in the heavens) and should hydrate, plump and smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It should also have multiple benefits that will decongest the eye area, reducing puffiness, turbo charge and work harmoniously with an eye cream to deliver long lasting results. Here are my best finds so far.

The Best Eye Serum Under £25

The Body Shop Edelweiss Eye Concentrate

This product completely surprised me I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with this eye serum. Its super hydrating and plumping (from all the hydration) and it’s loaded with anti-oxidants which help to protect this fragile area. Edelweiss is the hero ingredient which has 43% more anti-oxidant power than retinol, not to get confused with what retinol does as most people know it as the skin renewal hero. It’s super light and rapidly absorbs and includes hyaluronic, niacinamide and the superhero vitamin B3.

If the skin around the eyes is sensitive and thirsty, I would definitely recommend this.

L’Oreal Revitalift Filler (+Hyaluronic Acid)

This serum is formulated with 2.5% hyaluronic acid which will really help deliver maximum hydration. It is also blended with caffeine which will also help to drain and decongest dark circles and puffiness. If you are in your 30’s this will be perfect for you. I would suggest if you have noticed your lines and wrinkles haven’t moved in and they aren’t just visiting due to dehydration or tiredness, this eye serum will leave skin around the eyes looking hydrated and plump.

If you haven’t seen too many lines and you want to focus on prevention and hydration this is a great eye serum.

Best Eye Serum Under £50

Elemis Pro Collagen Advanced Eye Treatment

This formula is brilliant! It’s super hydrating thanks to the amount of moisture heroes and included (humectants, amino acids and natural moisturising components (NMF) to help the skin barrier hold the moisture in the skin. Whilst the amino acids that are included are classified as non-essential meaning the skin can make them, these amino acids do decline as we age and play an important role in repairing the skin and helping with diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Together with the NMF components they help keep the skins surface intact, supple and hydrated.

If the skin around the eyes is dry, dehydrated and thirsty I would recommend this.

Best Eye Serum Under £70

Clarins Double Serum

From the moment I tried Double Eye Serum I know this was going to be a firm favourite. I love the concept of two chambers and the active ingredients blending together in your fingertips to smooth and plump the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It is intensely moisturising and hydrating and I didn’t apply or feel the need for an eye cream over the top. Created with 13 plant extracts, its designed to smooth, firm, depuff, nourish and reduce dark circles, this is a brilliant product!

If your skin around your eyes is showing signs of aging and you feel the tissue needs hydration, moisture and anti-ageing benefits I would definitely recommend this.

Eye Line Elixir Serum Concentrate - Organic Neroli and Rose Otto

I was really fascinated to see what results I would get from this eye serum. I am huge fan of plant oils and essential oils and have seen incredible results, naturally they are rich in omegas and have an amazing affinity with the skin. This is the only serum that is more of an oil-based serum as opposed to water, packed with beautiful oils of organic rose otto, neroli, baobab and moringa oil to smooth and moisturise the eye area. This eye serum is truly stunning and the rollerball option is a must as it allows you to be able to tease the oils into the lines and glide effortlessly over the skin without dragging the skin.

If you have dry, lined and crepey skin around the eyes you will love this.

Best Eye Serum Under £90

Wildsmith Active Super Eye Serum

Combining hydrolzed (low weight hyaluronic acid) to plump up the lines and wrinkles this serum really gorges the skin with hyaluronic acid, which holds 1000 times its own weight in moisture. It’s a natural protein found in your skin and by the time your 30 you have lost 50% of it, so this is why your lines and wrinkles become more obvious. The combination of green coffee and larch tree extract plays a role in increasing cell renewal and wound healing. Green coffee is believed to have more antioxidant power then Vitamin C and E over a 48hr period, perfect for delivering long lasting protection. The eye area really needs antioxidant protection, especially if you suffer with dark circles, the area is so thin and delicate and the pollution and free radicals really damage the tissue around the eyes causing inflammation and dark circles.

If you have dark circles, bags and lines and wrinkles I would recommend this.
